The red nightcap is done, and declared perfectly comfortable and warm enough for all those frigid California nights. And, warning to all you loved ones, we've made another trip to the yarn store. It's time to start knitting for Christmas, he says ("mom, how am I EVER going to finish all these nightcaps in time?!"). Knifty Knitter, we adore you and your circular goodness.
That's pretty much the coolest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteGotta love a red nightcap in the summer. My daughter (9) just started her first hat using circular (attached) needles and they have worked great. She knits fine, her biggest problem is getting her yarn tangled up!
ReplyDeletekari - we too have all kinds of tangling going on! there have been a few tears. :)
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic! He must be so proud!
ReplyDeletethat is unbelievably awesome.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! That hat looks g-r-e-a-t. I love that he says "Mom, could you please hand me my knitting?" Totally cute. You should start a knitting circle. Wouldn't that be fun?
ReplyDeleteI was embroidering the other day and Bruce said he wanted to try too. So I got him hooked up with some supplies and the two of us sat there with our handwork, stitching away. I love these boys.
And "circular goodness" may be the funniest thing I've ever read.
how cute is he?
ReplyDeleteWhat a crafty guy! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love it! And such a cute picture!
ReplyDeleteExcellent hat, great fit. It's the lucky person who makes it onto your Christmas list!
ReplyDeleteHe is sooo adorable. I love your little guy. maybe he can teach me how to knit one of these days!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally laughing out loud at this one! Yeah what a fantastic hat. I'd like one in green, the seven-year old in blue, the man in brown. Boy he's got a lot of work ahead of him, with all his relatives!
ReplyDeleteSuperbe ! joli travail !
ReplyDeleteLe Père Noël va être jaloux de ce joli petit bonnet :)
J'ai adoré recevoir ton petit message Melissa ! :)))
Very very lovely and cute !
Wow! Good for him! I'm very impressed.

ReplyDeletei'm glad it fit! hooray E! good job! Christopher and i made PJ pants today. he said, "wow aunt liz. this is harder than i thought". ha ha. he kept asking me if we were done yet. not sure when he'll be back to do the shorts ; )

That's so cool. I can't believe Ethan is so big! I remember when he was still crawling down the aisles at church. Looks like he's still just as cute, though!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne! Long time no chat! I can't believe how big your kiddlettes are! I hope you are doing well in California!!!
ReplyDeleteit looks so good.he really did a great job.where in ca. are you.i'm in ca. also.
ReplyDeleteThe best part about this picture is the baby with barely an article of clothing on -- while her brother snuggles in a thick winter cap!
ReplyDeleteyour boy is too sweet! next thing you know... he will have a blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is the wrong thread -- I want to leave a book recommendation -- but I was worried about it getting buried and never seen in the older post about I Capture the Castle. I recommend The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets by Eva Rice. It is utterly adorable. It is a new book that has been compared to Smith's (because it is a quirky coming of age book featuring a run-down English manor), but it is wonderful in its own right. Also, if you have never read it, The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery is just about perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat's so great!! Tell him he should have his own etsy shop!
ReplyDeleteI think E is pretending to be in that castle in England (I Capture the Castle) in his night cap and all. He is living the dream! How I love him and A and L!
ReplyDeleteSo stinkin' cute!!!!
ReplyDeletethat is soo cute!!! where did you get the kit. he has inspired me!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love that photo!!!! What are they reading?
