Once upon a time there was a mermaid queen. She roamed the ocean swimming and looking beautiful. But then pirates caught her and burned her up and ate her for dinner. She was unfortunately delicious.
What a hilarious story! Kids can come up with some seriously awesome stories. I especially love the fire sitting on top of the ocean water. Thanks for sharing!
why is this the most wonderful story i've ever heard??? perhaps the 5 year old author, or the 5 year old illustrations. it truly IS unfortunately delicious!
Oh, what a horrible way to die - being burned up and eaten for dinner...BRILLIANT story and gorgeous drawings. Lucky child to be around grownups who listen to and look carefully at great stories. :0)
Um, so am I a bad person if I admit that I laughed my way through that enchanting tale? Because, uh, I did. And the ending - oh the ending! It was a definite LOL!
What were the pirates to do if she was "unfortunately delicious?" I have yet to pass up anything that fit into that category. The other mermaids had better watch out.

You probably already know this but it's more similar to the original little mermaid story than the disney version.
