pretty bag

This was a nice, slow, quiet weekend. I even snuck some time in to make another simple tote bag from Amy Karol's perfect book, Bend the Rules Sewing. Maybe this is a bag that won't get filled with headless barbies, apple cores, the overdue book or 2, and stray tissues? But probably it will; I most definitely have not yet mastered the art of a clean purse.

A clean purse?!! What is that? There is no such thing with kids! I just cleaned mine out yesterday and I am sure after a round of errands today, it will be clean no more! Lovely creation as always!

It looks nice and roomy to accomodate all of the stray, miscellaneous items.

my purse weighs about 20 lbs. it is full of junk. my little pouch is now getting lost in there. you did a great job with the bag. i have been thinking of a few more projects i want to make from the book as well. i love your fabric choices.

You've chosen just the perfect fabrics! Good luck with keeping it "yours" and not a little one's. :)

Love the fabrics, it's so pretty how the journals match. I never think to arrange things that nicely.

I wouldn't say the clean purse is because of anything you did. I have a no apple core rule. If we are in the car, out the window it goes. But I do find them in my daughter's room on her furniture. Love the fabrics you picked!

I just checked that book out but I think I am going to have to buy it, there is too many things I want to make. I love your fabric choice as always. I am impressed that it made it to the photo shoot without being "kidified" yet!

I love Amy's book.
I've been thinking about swing swing smock.
I've really been into smocks and also want to try smocking. I think that's enough of the word smock for now. Not that this has anything to do with your cute bag. I also can't keep my purse tidy.

I love how you find a few spare moments to whip up from spare fabric an adorable bag or outfit or kite or whatever else it would take me hundreds of hours of frustration to imperfectly create. Feel fortunate that you both are so sweet and good that people like you and Melissa anyway!

Love the pretty bag. I can't have enough cute bags for every mood. Of course when I switch bags I find that they are completely stuffed with sh.....stuff. But I find that's just evidence of a life with my little darlings, who won't be little forever.

Lynne: What a beautiful photograph and what a beautiful purse. I wish I could see more photos of it! My purse was constantly so full of junk, that I finally quit carrying a purse!

Beautiful! I love purses..... so do my kids. It's amazing how much destruction they can cause by getting into my purse!

What fabrics did you use? I love the picture.

Very, very cute! I think the secret is to designate different bags for different things. That calls for a whole collection!! But who doesn't want lots of bags?!!! I also clean out my purse and my car each time I come back from a trip (call me crazy but it works!). I am just amazed at all the things you create... how do you find the time?!!!

Who has a clean purse! haha! I'm always so careful right away with a new one, but I always end up with receipts, gum, and tampons hanging out in the bottom of my purses. Love the bag!
