a second honeymoon

My husband and I just got back from what our kids have been calling our "second honeymoon" (anyone ever read that Berenstein Bears' book?) in Spain. It was bliss. We traipsed through Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla and Granada (Sevilla smells like orange blossoms), in no rush at all and doing a lot of walking and talking. I brought my paints and our favorite thing was to find a pretty spot, sit, and paint while my very funny husband entertained me. But one word of warning to anyone headed that way - no matter how delicious you think "churros con chocolate" sound, it is best to go slow when you have an empty stomach and jet lag!

Beautiful pictures. I love the picture you snapped of the children's store window display.
What a nice get-away....

Oh, I lived in Granada for two years and am dying to go back with my husband! I hope you found the Mirador de San Nicolas with its amazing, up-close view of the Alhambra. What a great vacation.... (My friends and I used to go to the same cafe for churros after all-nighters in clubs. My stomach was much "younger" and more tolerant back then.)

Yes churros con chocolat looks divine. Especially in such a charming setting. I bet it was hard to come home from your second honeymoon.

I think I am afraid of even the idea of Churros con Chocolate... However, I can just imagine the scent of orange blossoms on the breeze in Seville... Mmmmm....!
Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your wonderful trip! Hope there are more pictures coming...?

Sounds like a fun trip! I've been meaning to tell you about a friend of mine from Boston who has a great design website: http://littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com/. She actually just posted recently about how great your blog is! By the way, you and Melissa are so talented and creative, and I love seeing your projects on here.

How wonderful! I have itchy feet, wishing I could travel somewhere, anywhere! Just a few more years and then we can manage it.

Great pix, it is fun living vicariously through them.

My husband and I have "second honeymoons" every year! Not quite Spain (that was our first honeymoon) but little getaways to remind ourselves that its important to have couple time. We are going back to Spain next year. After seeing these pictures I can hardly wait. Great photos!

Oh Lynne, your pictures made me miss Spain so much. Isn't it just lovely? I'm so glad you had such a nice time, everyone should go to Spain. The churros con chocolate were always a bit much for me (even in my younger days). Did you drink any horchata?

sounds lovely, churros and all!

Sevilla is one of my favorite spots in the world. I think it is so enchanting! S and I took our "second honeymoon" there a year after we were married! I am ready for a third now after reading this post!
