uh-oh...turning five!

We are preparing for the four-year old to become five. Only two and a half more weeks! And since I have been slowly brain-washed into a deep love of child-birthday-party-planning by Martha Stewart Kids magazine (and now Cookie magazine, too), I find myself really looking forward to the whole thing (even though I wish she could stay four forever).

Here's her invitation. It's a drawing she made that we plugged into photoshop and colored with the paintbrush tool (very fun). Under the little corner pop-up flap it says something like: "the four-year-old would love to invite you to celebrate her no. 5 along with her imaginary friends." We are planning a chicken cake and many kind of bizarre games having to do with her imaginary friends. It should be interesting and thank goodness small. More details to come, whether you are interested or not!

Birthdays are my favorite - and I have a five-year-old-in-a-couple-of-weeks as well! I've been posting pictures of the upcoming car party - she's a big fan of all vehicles - and some excerpts of past party themes. I've loved four. I miss it already. So the car crafting has been making me feel a little better!

Love the invite idea!! My kids love creating their own b-day cards for friends anyway, so this would fit right into their idea of fun.

I love that you used her own artwork!! What a keepsake! And it sounds like so much fun :) I think I should do that for my birthday theme this year!!!

Thank you soooo much for the package I got! I was thrilled when both of you wrote a little note (I'm not sure how you did that, but I was thrilled!). I love the stationary and it was so cool how you packaged it! You two are always blowing me away with your ideas! thanks thanks thanks and i love you both ;)

This theme rocks. I did a killer "disgusting" birthday party for my twin six year olds. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
