sweet little girls

Happy New Year!

My goals are made, Christmas decorations away, and we're kind of ready for next week, when school etc. all begin again.

Look at these sweet little dolls. The two on the sides were Christmas gifts for my girls from their Auntie Courtney, who made them from this Black Apple pattern. Aren't they fabulous? The doll in the middle I picked up for baby at Pottery Barn Kids on clearance. She's terrified of it. (Would you think less of me if I told you that I have fun asking her to hold it, just because I think it's funny to hear her say, "no scary baby - eyes!"?)

  1. I totally love the leg warmers on the doll!!

I think she may be right...those eyes are a little terrifying!

Off to get *my* decorations put away. I know it's time, but I just. don't. want. to.

  2. I love the legwarmers on those black apple dolls, I made some of those dolls for my three girls for Christmas, I think they need their own pair of legwarmers now:)

  3. Will you think less of me if I admit to thinking _more_ of you for having admitted to it? :-)

If you want to give up on that little bit of nasty pleasure whilst possibly solving the fear problem, might I suggest putting some eyelids on the baby doll? You know, half circles that would conceal the top part? I think that'd make her look slightly less like she might do something scary.

  4. That is just too funny. My little girl used to be totally freaked out by babies and now she's getting into them. Of course not the ones I make her but otherwise she likes them.

  5. Till this day, if there is a doll staring at me while I sleep, I have to turn it face down(I'm almost 30!)...this particular 'eye' doll would probably do me in... The 'black apple' dolls are adorable~
    Happy New Year!

  8. ha ha, no. mamas have to get their kicks where they can. mine has had a frog-in-the-throat cold this week and I keep making her say "Exterminate!". She has no idea who the daleks are, but I'm finding it hilarious.

  12. The doll in the middle is possessed, smart kid.

When she gets a little older, she will be the one making you say things for the reaction, when it happens...remember this moment!
