Nesting Phase One Completed: Girls' Room
This past weekend I finally finished the girls' room. It used to be blue, but now it's a much calmer pink (Behr "soft cashmere") which is somewhat of a visual relief. The blue was kind of intense. Anyway, we wanted it to be pretty but not too little-girly, and loved the headboard that Grace from Design Sponge made last month, which completely inspired our somewhat simplified version. (Her instructions and sources are wonderful, if you are considering making your own headboard. It really was a piece of cake! And she's so cute.)

Its such a pretty room without being too girly. Enjoy your nesting, hope your belly is growing well!
Lynne,
You are amazing!! I love the girls' new room. Bet they do too.
Looks great! I love the gathered lamp shade! Did you make it?
Lynne, it looks amazing. I wish I had little girls so I could copy that headboard.
What a great room. Headboards turned out great and I love the ceiling light fixture!
Lynne:
It's perfect! Oh, I'm so glad you finished it. I love the small bursts of color in the headboards, the six swans artwork and the dancing princesses sugar loom. It all looks so sweet and pretty and perfect for your girls.
Gorgeous headboards. Beautiful fabric choice.
What a beautiful room. When can I move in? ;)
Katherine, yup, made the lampshade, thanks!
I admire your team blog and so love reading it! I'm writing in with my first comment to see if you would be willing to tell me what that amazing fabric on the headboards is. I followed the instructions link and saw the fabric featured in the magazine from Jacaranda, but oh my goodness I love the mice you have! I am expecting my first baby and am trying to get my nursery ideas together. I know you both are so busy, but I would really appreciate knowing if you are willing to say! If you would prefer to email me, I am at hallierichmond at gmail.com. Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Hallie - I'll email you too, but in case any one else is wondering, I ordered my fabric from Jacaranda (Design Sponge's source). All you can specify is the color, which makes opening the package exciting. But I also saw some otomi fabric when I googled it in several ebay stores, which allows you to see exactly the piece you are getting.
Good luck!!
Love those headboards!
WOW! When can I move in?
Oh my goodness! I. Love. That. Room. Every thing about it. The clean almost white everything with that pop of gorgeous red! The sparse but beautiful and classic little meaningful things... I have girls and seriously needed the inspiration. Thank you oh so kindly. What lucky girls you have!
Ridiculously cute. :)
you did a great job! way to go lynne! fun fabric too!
These headboards rock! I absolutely love your style!
This is sooooo great!!!! It looks fabulous!
Jen
so totally adorable!
The room turned out so fabulous. It looks so comfy and calm. I think I need to go take a nap.
wow. so pretty!
I LOVE this room. I thought you said you no longer had time for such projects with 4 kids:) You always impress me.
Oh, this is what I always envisioned our kids' rooms would be--but my design eye gets held up by the crayon on the walls and the blob of stale bread under the bed, and I just can't get any further. This room is so gorgeous and so inspiring--maybe it'll motivate me to get out the paint and order some letterpress prints for the walls!
wow! it all looks fantastic!!! those headboards are darling! i am starting to think of how to get True's room ready for Brave to move in, but I don't want to worry about it until after baby has moved out from the bassinet from our room into the crib. We still have some time...
p.s. that little lamp hanging in the middle of the room is so cute ! is that something you made?
Hello!
No, I wish I had the skills to make the lamp but we bought it at Anthropologie. :)
The whole room is so pretty and calm, and I love that shot of red from the headboards, just the right detail. Lovely!
The room looks beautiful, but I had to comment because of the bunny. We have one that used to look exactly like that. His name is Cinnamon Bunny. Two years of little kid love have left him looking a bit bedraggled, and all the more sweet for it. He started as a special travel companion, but has evolved into a constant companion, snuggle buddy, best friend, and member of the family. May your little one find as much comfort and love in that bunny as mine has in hers.
oh, thank you clover! what a sweet little note!
Love those head boards!
That headboard material is so fantastic. I saw it three or four years ago while in Mexico and you still couldn't find it anywhere in the states. So glad it's finally being imported, it's just the most brilliant pattern.
I adore you little girls room. So cute, and so calm. I love the paint color and would like to try it in my little girl's room. I can't find Behr "soft cashmere" anywhere. Any ideas? Thank you so much! :)
So why thinking, account the simple Abercrombie Fitch Polos to furnish your apparel with Abercrombie apparels and accessories. Abercrombie Fitch Polo a activity attenuated in color, excitement, warmth, style, look, and comfort. What abroad do you need?
