my thrifty thursday
Yesterday I had a very thrifty day - I've been looking for a side table for my husband's side of the bed forever, and stumbling into one of my favorite little consignment shops in town I found both this cheery metal yellow table, and the chair and ottoman. Wohoo! I love it when you can solve all of your bedroom-functionality issues for under $100.
I blame my huge belly for having nothing else to write about that's more substantive this morning. I've been thinking a lot about my mantra for the new year (I think no resolutions for 2010, just a mantra!) and will maybe have the words to write about it in the next few days. I'd love to hear your thoughtful ideas about it and get some inspiration.
Have a great weekend!

Cute. I love the painting (fabric?), where is it from?
super finds -- what a score!
that looks like a serene and cozy corner -- i love it!
I feel the same way Lynne. While I've tried to stay away from resolutions, I got pulled in yet again. My big, super-sized goal this year is to find my own creative voice.
I've been bolstered by the lyrics from Steven Sondheim's song "Move On"...
Stop worrying it your vision
Is new
Let others make that decision-
They usually do
You keep moving on....
Just keep moving on
Anything you do
Let it come from you
Then it will be new
Give us more to see...
THanks, the wallpaper is from Cole & Sons, and is called Cow THistle.
Regan -
what a great goal, and what beautiful lyrics. thank you so much for sharing!
I'm so jealous of the chair find. I LOVE it!
Wow you did find some great finds. That yellow table is perfect in your muted serene bedroom. I bet your love is happy to have his own cozy spots for his books, tissues, cups of water, etc.
My mantra this year is survival. I'm still barely surviving with four kids and a baby that does not sleep!
That wallpaper is just beautiful ! The yellow table as well, perfect in the room !
holy cow...what a steal. LOVING all three pieces. lucky girl ;-)
xo
Love your room. The little pop of yellow is so welcoming.
My word for this year is "serenity". We are due with a second one in 3-4 weeks and I don't want to get bent out of shape too much. Just kind of look for serenity in mids of craziness.
Good luck!
I love your bedroom. Great find. it's nice when you can take care of a couple of things in one trip:)
Good luck with baby #4. I am awaiting the news...
love the chair! what a great find.
Looks great! What a steal!
What?! All of that for $100? Where do you live?! I have got to move there. The biggest drawback of living where I do -- in the Canadian far north -- is that there's no good thrifting. Ah, well. I guess I can thrift vicariously...
Wow I am SO jealous that you found these at such a great price.
I *cannot* believe you got that chair for under $100, let alone a chair, ottoman & table!
Gorgeous. Is that framed wallpaper? I remember you posting about it awhile ago but never saw the big picture.
I love the lines of that chair. Nice choice. What if you painted your other side table yellow. The different shape and materials of your tables will keep it from being too matchy matchy while lending a cohesion to the room.
