Allyson's AMAZING pictures!!

Allyson sent me these incredible pictures for us to post. They left me sitting at my computer staring at the clarity even through a crying baby... Our world is so amazingly beautiful. Thanks, Allyson, for capturing that. You have such a great eye.

Wow! These are amazing! I particularly like the top one. Where was it taken? I would love to learn photography. I remember seeing a picture Brian (y?) had taken of you in the desert once and I've always thought that was the coolest picture I had ever seen...until now :) That's some talent!

Allyson, I love these photos! Where is the first photo taken? I would love to live near you; I think we would be crafting fools.

Both pictures were taken at the Fredrik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI, where I found myself accompanying a field trip yesterday. It's about 2 hours north of here (or nearly 3, if you unwittingly miss a junction on the way home and end up 40 miles west with a migrane and a puking baby . . . ) and is one of the premier butterfly, horticulture, and sculpture gardens in the states. Who knew?

I would love to live by all of you guys. I read a book recenently about the balance (or lack thereof) between practicality and beauty -- survival is great and all, but there needs to be some beauty in the world. I have a hard time remembering that sometimes, without a little help.
